Abu Dhabi Aerial Rug

Abu Dhabi’s landscape has always been one of wonders. Its numerous islands with their vast shores and interconnected waters at various depths construct something of a painting when viewed from above. The harmonious blend of different tones of the ocean water along with the rivers, the island grounds and the branched-out mangroves compose a natural work of art.

To celebrate this mural, this rug has been designed, exclusively for a client, to abstractly represent Abu Dhabi’s aerial scenery through uniform tracing of its different colors and hues.

Each specific color in the rug is extruded by shaving the pile by hand at different heights to create this voluminous and textured wool and silk rug.
